Kodagu, a fertile mountaineous region of Karnataka blessed with natural beauty is the birthplace of River Kaveri. Coorg or Kodagu is a tiny district nestling in the lap of the mighty Western Ghats in the state of Karnataka, India. This splendid land is also called the "Scotland of India." Coorg Institute of Technology (CIT) is located in the picturesque and serene environment of Ponnampet, Kodagu, Karnataka. The institution was established in 1999 by Kodava Education Society (KES), a registered charitable society formed in 1997. Coorg Institute of Technology is approved by AICTE New Delhi and affiliated to VTU, Belagavi. CIT illuminates more gloriously in the holistic landscape of Coorg spread across a sprawling 34 acre campus. Over 18 batches of students have graduated from this sanctuary of learning thereby creating a niche for themselves in their chosen disciplines such as Civil Service, Defence, Corporate sector, Banking, and so on. We offer B. E in five disciplines. Since inception the institute has been creating quality professionals to the technical field. The success stories of our alumni who are in coveted position in reputed companies emphasis the same. At CIT we focus on holistic development of students through constant support and mentoring in academic, non- academic and self building activities. The various clubs like Robotics, Cultural, Sports, Technical and Eco club has been involving students through which we are preparing a window for improving the skill sets. We encourage the meritorious and sports achievers for scholarship and awards. The institution has maintained its academic standards by achieving excellence in the VTU examinations. The strength of the institution is the state-of-the-art infrastructure, qualified and dedicated faculty.
