Kalpataru Institute of Technology

Kalpataru Institute of Technology was established in 1986 with a view to provide quality technical education. The college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The college has an excellent team of qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members. The 35 years old Institution is equipped with all required infrastructure.

The college campus is located within a distance of 2 Kms from Railway station and Bus Stand.

Computer Science and Engineering Department was established in the year 1986. The department aims to provide quality education in Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology with under-graduate and post-graduate programmes. The Department offers an healthy atmosphere for students to build their talents in the respective advanced areas of Computer Science, Engineering and Technology.

The Department has dedicated, highly qualified and experienced faculties who are committed to excellence. They are constantly striving to bring creative and innovative methods of teaching to produce quality products. The department conducts various seminars and workshops for students and staff. The department is conducting various value added programs such as workshops, guest lectures and seminars from eminent professors and industry experts, for constant knowledge up-gradation of staff and students. These activities help to explore the cutting edge technologies, which keep our students and staff in touch with latest developments in the field of information technology.

Information science and Engineering department has two main computer centers which is well-equipped. There are 200 computers of advanced configuration out of these 120 computers are provided with 16 Mbps dedicated Internet Connection.
The department was established in the year 1995 with an initial intake of 60 students. Since last 10 years the department has made many achievements in the ladder of success. It has also given highly qualified budding computer engineers with commitment to cater the needs of the software industry from time to time. The department has dedicated highly qualified and experienced faculty who are committed to excellence. They are constantly striving to bring creative and innovative methods of teaching to produce quality products. With the combination of highly qualified and dedicated lecturers and motivated students working in unison, the Department of Information Science and Engineering is one of the most successful departments in KIT.

Mechanical Engineering department was established in the year 1992 with an initial intake of 30 which further was enhanced in two stages to 60 first and then to 120. The department is currently headed by Dr. B M Viswanatha, Associate Professor & HOD. The department is in optimum demand since its inception to till date. The department has well experienced, highly qualified and committed faculty members. The department has 3 Professors with Ph.D degree

Electronics and Communication Engineering Department was established in the year 1986 with an intake of 60 students for Bachelor of Engineering (BE) programme and affiliated to Bangalore University. Subsequently the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Kalpataru Institute of Technology was affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University during the year 1998. Currently the department is offering Bachelor of Engineering with an intake of 120 students in Under Graduate (UG) programme and Master of Technology (M.Tech) in VLSI Design and Embedded systems with an intake of 18 students under Post Graduate (PG) programme. The Department offers an excellent academic environment with a team of highly qualified and dedicated faculties. Several staff members are currently doing their research work and are involved in taking care of several projects. The department has upgraded tools like CADENCE which is the backbone for Digital and Analog IC chip designing. The department has provided the students with well equipped laboratories and facilities for academic excellence.

Civil Engineering department with an intake of 60 was started in the year 2013. The department has qualified faculties and majority of the faculties have registered for PhD.

The Department of MBA was started in the year 2008-2009 with an annual intake of 60, recognized by AICTE and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. The department has a faculty with an experience in both industry and academia. The department has a students association Kalpa-Kens under which the it conducts various management club activities and Intra & Inter-collegiate management fest.
